ππ²πΏπΌπ³πΉπΌπ ππΉπΆπ΄π΅π π΅π΅π΄π was a cargo flight from Moscow to Bandar Seri Begawan with stopovers in Turin and Abu Dhabi. The flight was being operated by an Antonov An-124 (Reg. RA-82069) on π’π°ππΌπ―π²πΏ π΄, ππ΅π΅π².
At about 10:25 local time the plane was flying empty from Russia to Turin to collect Ferrari cars to be delivered in Brunei. While descending to Turin-Caselle Airport, the crew was informed about the weather conditions at destination: wind variable at 3 knots, visibility 2,000 metres, RVR runway 36 more than 1,500 metres, light rain, scattered at 1,500 feet, scattered at 3,500 feet, broken at 7,000 feet, OAT and dew point 13Β°C, QNH 1012 hPa.
On final approach, the crew was unable to establish a visual contact with the runway and the captain decided to initiate a go-around. While climbing, the plane struck trees and crashed onto houses located in the village of San Francesco al Campo, about 1 km north of the runway end. The plane, a house and a barn were destroyed. Both pilots, 2 people on the ground and 20 cows in the barn were killed.
